The educational Farms, represent a link between city and country, a way to get in touch farmer and younger generation, in order to allow them knows about the life of animals, the origin of the products we eat, stimulating critical thinking and curiosity . It is a way for young people to discover the social and economic importance of an often overlooked job. The farm tours are valuable opportunities to learn and should be valued by both the farming community that the schools.

Madonna dell’Arco farm is the perfect place to provide visitors with an insight into the real life of pasture and farm, allowing visitors the close contact with all the various stages of the animal breeding and the processing of agricultural products.

The farm is always available for organizations and individuals to define the type of tour and to prepare students, and visitors as well, agreeing with them the kind of educational tour and providing educational material as well as illustrative support.

Booking

The classes or organized groups shall book the visit at the farm, agreeing with our staff the date, the activities to be carried out and costs. It is better that the booking will be followed by a written notice (letter, fax, e-mail) in order to avoid any kind of misunderstandings.

Transport

The organization and the transport costs are at the expenses of the school or of the visitors.

Terms

The visits can be made in any period of the year. The educational tours are surely different and related to the season; in case of bad weather, the activities will be carried indoor.

Costs

The educational tour costs € 13,00 per person including lunch at the farm’s restaurant.

The lunch menu includes::

Appetizer -  Home-grown mozzarelline cheese and capocollo with tomatoes focaccia bread
First Course - “orecchiette” (hand-made pasta) with tomato sauce.
Second Course - Grilled home grown sausage with side dish of potatoes
Dessert - Farm’s specialty dessert
Bread and water included

It is possible to stay  for “green” week.

Clothing and materials required

We suggest you to wear sporty clothes and comfortable shoes suitable for outdoor activities. We also suggest you to take spare shoes, a cap, a bottle of water and a snack and/or lunch if you have not made a lunch- reservation at the farm’s restaurant.
